About Joël Ginies

Accredited Mediator serving Cheshire and the North West.

My story

I did not plan to become a mediator.

After years working across technology and digital projects, I found myself at a crossroads. A career change forced me to stop and ask a question I had never properly asked before: what am I actually built for?

I took a personality assessment. The result surprised me. Where I had once been driven by exploration and problem-solving in the technical sense, something had shifted. The profile that came back was Mediator.

I looked into what that meant as a profession. The more I read, the more it felt right. Not because I had always been comfortable with conflict. I had not. My instinct, like most people's, was to sidestep it. But I had always been able to stay calm inside it, to listen without reacting, to see both sides of an argument even when I did not want to.

Mediation gave that instinct a shape and a purpose.

I trained with the Award in International Mediation, completing the AIM Level 4 Award in Mediation, regulated by Ofqual, in July 2026. I am based in Cheshire and work with individuals, neighbours, and organisations across the North West.

My approach is straightforward. I do not take sides. I do not tell people what to do. I create the conditions for a proper conversation, and I let the people in the room find their own way through.

If you are dealing with a dispute that feels stuck, I would be glad to have an initial conversation.

How I work

Impartiality

I have no stake in the outcome. My role is to ensure that both parties feel heard and that the process is fair, not to steer you towards any particular resolution.

Confidentiality

Everything discussed in mediation stays in mediation. I will not share anything about your case with anyone outside the room without your explicit consent.

Your agreement, your terms

Any outcome is entirely yours. I do not impose decisions or recommend settlements. What you agree is what you have chosen, and that makes it far more likely to hold.
